Publix announces grand opening details for new Moody store

Publix is getting ready to open its 61st store in Alabama.
Moody’s first Publix will open in the Village at Moody retail center on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 7 a.m.
The Moody location, which will include a drive-thru pharmacy, will occupy 45,600 square feet and anchor the development, which is located at the intersection of Interstate 20 and U.S. 411 at exit 144.
Moody Mayor Joe Lee will speak at a ribbon cutting at 6:45 a.m.
The store will include a drive-thru pharmacy and a full deli and bakery. About 140 people will work at the location and normal store hours will be from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.
The first 1,000 customers will receive a free reusable bag and the first 25 customers who spend $50 or more will get a free back of groceries worth $25.
“Publix differentiates itself by providing excellent customer service, quality products and competitive prices,” Publix spokeswoman Brenda Reid said. “We look forward to serving customers in Moody in hopes of becoming their supermarket of choice.”
Publix has several new stores slated to open in Alabama, including in downtown Birmingham, Troy and Muscle Shoals. Publix has more than 1,100 stores throughout the southeast.
